CPUMon – Free Windows Utility that Monitor CPU and Memory Usage
The first thing you are going to like about this application, even before downloading, installing and using it, is that it is offered free of charge. You can get this application, put it to the test, then keep using it for as long as you want if you like it. If you don’t like it, just uninstall it from your computer. You will not lose any money by doing so.
The second thing you are going to like is that downloading and installing the application on your computer will only take a moment – which is nice. The download weighs in at a mere 652KB. A less than 1MB, the download will complete in no time at all, even if you are on a less than spectacular internet connection.
Installing the application takes little time as well. Just launch the executable you downloaded, follow the instructions presented by the setup wizard, and you will be done in a blink.
Once CPUMon is installed, it sits there in the taskbar, displaying a constantly changing icon. That icon is changing because it displays current CPU and memory usage. Hover the mouse over the taskbar icon and a small window will pop up showing the current CPU and memory usage. Double click the icon and you will be presented with a graph that displays CPU usage, and a bar that displays a CPU usage percentage. Right click the taskbar icon and you can access the application’s settings, access CPU Explorer (displays detailed CPU info) and CPU Features (lists supported CPU features), and access some CPUMon statistics (max and average CPU usage, max and average memory usage, the time CPUMon has been up and running).
From the application's settings you can play with things like the colors, alpha-blending, update rates and more.
The aforementioned CPU Explorer and CPU Features are offered by Carbonsoft cxCpu Processor Detection Toolkit which is integrated in CPUMon.
